Graphic, graphic, graphic, paneling was all over the new BCBG Fall/Winter 2012 collection. The lightweight colored and sheer fabrics were paneled together to create graphic geometric looks. The look of the sheer against the opaque is just amazing.
I think this collection is great. Many of the dresses are making me think of a Spring vacation more than Fall, but they are still fitting if a girl needs a great dress to go out in when she is on one. You can see the looks from the collection below.
I’m loving all the stripes this season. It is one thing that will never get tiring for me to see. The color combinations that everyone is using is just perfect for fall.
The Richard Chai Love Fall 2012 show was one of the first to feature it during New York Fashion Week. They came in gray and black, red, gray and maroon, and even tie-dyed. They weren’t kept horizontal either. They also went vertical on a pair of trousers and shorts. You can see the looks below.
Editors note – This video may not be suitable for work as underwear is featured.
Textile Elizabeth and James just released their new campaign film for their Spring/Summer collection shot by Jason McDonald. The video features model Abby Brothers starting her day on New York’s Lower East Side by choosing the classic Encino Tee and Silverado Debbie jeans to wear.
The video pays homage to the classic campaign films of the 90’s. I love the vibe. It does give off the same feel as those classic commercials to me, especially with Abby rolling around to Underwear by The Magnetic Fields. You can see the film yourself above.
Stripes, stripes with a pinch of floral and ombré made it on to the runways at the Men’s Fall/Winter 2012 Rag & Bone show. The styling was kept sleek and smart, but still had the Rag & Bone unfussiness. The clothes looked like they can easily be worn during a night out, then switch up the look with a plain tee for a laid back morning. Especially those striped pants from Look 3 and the one above, as well as that cardigan.
Great outerwear was also sent down for men’s as well as the women’s. There is not one that many guys would not want to own. The striped coat from Look 19 was the stand out of the whole collection for me. It is perfection and a great new take for the men’s coat. Another new take on a classic were the ombré suits. The tailoring was done so well on them, which is a must for a men’s suit. They also made florals work for men in my opinion. A feat that is very hard to pull off and they did it.
