SUNO is a brand that is not scared to put “in your face prints” together no matter which season it is. They are definitely one of the breath of fresh air brands whenever I look at it. The pieces always look so cheerful, even without much color.
They had florals, paneling and the trend of the season, stripes. There were so many stripes this season. I think the prints in the collection is amazing. They stand out, but they don’t hide the amazing pieces themselves and the fabrics. You can look below to see the Fall/Winter 2012 collection.
The guys shouldn’t be left out of a post of all the menswear that walked right? No. Here is a look at the new Simon Spurr Fall/Winter 2012 collection. This collection actually surprised me quite a bit.
I would have never expected to see so many prints by Simon Spurr. I do think that they work really well though. The tailoring is so exquisite that the prints did not distract. I quite like the suit above. It fits amazing and the print is so fun, I even prefer the blue version over the gray. You can see the collection below.
When I saw the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2012 collection, my first thought was Jenna Lyons. The thick framed glasses, the off-beat preppy styling, clean lines and sweetness. Then again the Marc by Marc aesthetic is that fun, smart, preppy person. The color palette is really great. I like all the different blues in the different fabrics.
There were some pieces that were great in my opinion. That shaggy carpet coat is my favorite by far. I never would have thought that I would ever want a shaggy carpet coat as much as I do with this one. The striped blue sweater was another favorite as well as the one with the letters of Marc written all over. You can see the many looks from the collection below.
Military and Baseball was the theme at the Fall/Winter 2012 Victoria Beckham show. There was also a hint of David Beckham as the inspiration. The clothes had the classic Victoria sleek body-con aesthetic. These pieces were made for women and to flatter the women. I also think that they are very slimming.
The detail was a surprise, especially the raglan sleeves, the collars (love the one above) and stripes. They all worked though. Another change I would have never expected were the flat motorcycle boots, they are such a surprise from the women that swears by her heels. I think the coats were amazing. I love the touch of leather in Look 12 and the amazing fit of the one above on Joan Smalls. I also like that she incorporated beanies (which were inspired by David). I think it is a great mix with the dresses. You can never go wrong with a beanie. You can see all the pieces from the collection below.
