For the Spring 2013 Balmain season, it was very exaggerated. I mean, exaggerated shoulders, pants, details, and eyelets. Yes, Olivier Rousteing gave a new meaning to the perforation trend. The constancy to sway the aesthetic from its previous designer, Christophe Decarnin, was also a prominent this season. Though moving forward with his own aesthetic, the soul of the fashion house is still there.
I cannot say that I am the biggest fan of the collection this season. There were some pieces that I found really amazing, like a few of the dresses (pretty much all of them), shirts (embroidered one), skirts (Looks 12, 17, 37), sweater (Look 21) and matador jacket (Look 9). But overall, I found it very 80’s/90’s, which was the inspiration of course, but it was too strong and was borderline dated. All I was thinking was Christina Applegate in Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead when I was looking through it. One thing that will always be a positive is the embroidered detailing. I will always be a fan of Olivier’s embroidery. Click through the collection below.
Jessica Alba was spotted heading to her office in Santa Monica, California wearing a pair of Sass & Bide Zippora jeans in Light Grey. I really like this look on Jessica. The pale pink, grey and silver go really well together. Usually when those colors are paired together, it can make you look washed out, but here, Jessica doesn’t look like that one bit.
These are quite the popular style by Sass & Bide. We have spotted everyone from Vanessa Hudgens and Olivia Palermo to Keira Knightley and Kate Moss wearing these in all various prints and washes. I wonder if the back zipper was a plus for all of them? You can click here to purchase these jeans from their website $230.
Kristen Stewart posed for some photos at the Balenciaga show this season in Paris, France. Being the face of the new perfume, Kristen donned a head-to-toe Balenciaga look. She wore a pastel yellow leather jacket and shoes with yet another pair of printed jeans by the French fashion house.
That yellow leather jacket is so amazing!!! I can see that one being quite the popular commodity. I never would have thought that I would see a yellow leather jacket and love it as much as I would have now. It just looks so good on Kristen. You can click here to purchase Balenciaga jeans at YOOX.
Have you ever lusted over the custom made coated high-waisted jeans that Madonna wore during her tour? Well now you can own the exact pair. Well, not the exact ones that were on her Madge herself.
J Brand has now made them available for everyone to have. There is a change that has been made to them, just a minor one though. In honor of The Queen of Pop, J Brand has renamed them The Madonna Jean from its previous name, Maria. You can now click here to get your pair at Forwardbyelysewalker for $200.
