The first Balmain collection under new designer Olivier Rousteing walked in Paris during the Spring 2012 season. The Matador inspired collection featured looks that were nothing less flashy than the inspiration itself. There was embroidery everywhere, tons of gold and even the return of denim to the line.
Something that Balmain never gets wrong is tailoring. Everything is just always cut so sharp and clean. That is what makes this fashion house so lust-worthy. I love the tribal printing on all of the tops and even on the pants (subtle detailing just amazes me). You can click through some of the looks below.
Here is my first take on a review. I recently purchased the J Brand Corporal Pants in Black. I have to say that most men’s styles don’t really impress me, yet alone fit me. So when I found these I was highly impressed. I have fallen for the trouser look and am happy that I got these.
They are a slim trouser style that come in a variety of colors, but I chose the black wash (above). I got my usual size in the men’s J Brand jeans (I had a pair of the Kanes). I have to say that these do run about a size larger compared to the Kanes. So If you do plan on getting, them do go down a size. I actually don’t mind the bagginess though. They are still slim in a way so they don’t look sloppy.
The fabric that is used is just superb. It comes in the softest twill that I have ever felt. I lived in them for a week after I got them. They were just that comfortable. I think the owners of these pants know exactly what I am talking about.
The wash was another thing that I was surprised that I would like. It is like a worn in charcoal/washed out black. It looks so natural and that it has a story behind it, even though they are brand new. It also fits right into my zero to no color closet. They are also very versatile. They can be casually worn with sneakers or for a quick errand run with sandals.
Overall, I would have to say that I am happy to have gotten these. Never would I have thought that I would ever buy a style from the men’s section again and sure enough I did. I highly recommend these to anyone who hasn’t tried them. You can click here to purchase these in a variety of washes ta JBrandJeans.
At first when I first saw these jeans I was a bit unsure of the style. But after seeing them around during Fashion Week, I actually quite like them.
They are the new Isabel Marant Renell jeans that walked the Fall/Winter show back in the summer. They come in black (featured) and white. They have a Native American print on the outseam and the back pockets. I do think they need a cuff or a boot paired with them. They are a great take on the printed jean, something new. We usually see a print allover the jeans, but these are simply placed on the sides. I also find them to be seasonless. So they will look great worn year-round. Kate Moss was caught leaving the Groucho Club in London, England after having a night out. She gave her skinny Siwy’s a rest and opted for the Siwy Penelope jeans in It’s Magic. Kate must be going through her wide-leg and flare jeans phase again. I remember seeing her a few years back wearing her J Brand Lovestory’s non-stop. It looks like she discovered the Siwy ones though, so I’m sure she’ll be wearing these out a lot.
I think Siwy is the first brand that Kate seems to absolutely LOVE. She is rarely ever caught in a pair of jeans by someone else. She has been caught in others, but this brand is rarely ever seen off her bottom half. I don’t blame her though. They are amazing. Now that they are making flares, I think Kate won’t have to limit herself to the skinnies. I hope to see her in some more of the flared Siwys, hopefully some of their blues.
