Keeping with the thoughts of using music as the inspiration, Olivier Rousteing chose Elvis in Vegas for the Balmain Resort collection. He chose Kasia Stuss to be the model for his first jab at womenswear since gaining the title of Creative Director.
The collection had a huge amount of detail put into it. Looking at the dresses it is just impeccable how much is in it. For example, the mini dress with the tribal print. That whole print has been embroidered on the dress itself. Just amazing.
One thing that I do have to say is that, I get McQueen a lot looking through the collection. With all the gold combined with the prints and white…it is just reminiscent of the fashion house. Though with that aside, the collection is still great. I love that they did trouser cuts this season. Those would have to be my favorite. They feature ankle zips and hidden pocket zippers at the hip. Olivier also brought back the leather hot pants with the multiple hip zippers, but cleaned them up for this collection. A new feature this season is also in the motorcycle jeans. The pleating on those are cut different and placed different than what is usual for Balmain. The line also features a pink pair and an amazing shirt with suede panels (image 15). Gavin Rossdale was spotted out and about with Zuma in West Hollywood, California. Zuma looks just like Gwen doesn’t he? Gavin wore a pair of the AG Matchbox jeans in 1 Year Freshman. I love AG. They have become the only pair of jeans that I wear when it comes to my blues. The pair I have are just perfect.
Out of all the guys that we blog about frequently, we get them at least once in a pair of Dior Homme jeans. Gavin has not yet. I wonder if he just doesn’t like the material. I don’t own a pair, but they look like a pair of jeans that are on the stiffer side and have to be broken in. You can click here to purchase his jeans at Singer22 for $215.

The Ferragamo Resort show walked. The Old Hollywood inspired line featured many amazing looks. I love that the fashion house sticks to the glamour look. While many go on a more casual route for resort, they didn’t.
They had the all blue look above which featured denim. They also had some amazing dresses. My favorite would have to be Karlie Kloss’ first look. They also featured a pajama look. I am dying for the shirt of that one. I have been looking for one just like it for a while and I have found one that is very similar at Barneys. It also looks like Vanessa Traina made an appearance at the show. You can check out some of the looks below.
Men’s Fashion Week was not over. I just needed a breather from blogging about all the lines. There were so many this season that featured great denim pieces than the past ones.
Next to feature the fabric is Phillip Lim. For his punk inspired collection he had tons of ombre, natural colors, and acid wash. I think the fit of the denim shirt above is amazing. It looks so modern and cool. I love every piece of outerwear. The shorts were also great pieces from the collection. I like how he refined the ’90s fits with cleaner lines.
