I truly think models have some of the best off-duty style. There is always a great mix of different styles involved in their looks, whether it be bohemian, rocker or a casual Parisian chic vibe. They are ones that know how to mix these vibes so well and effortlessly. You can click here to purchase Helmut Lang from their website.
Cult of Individuality decided to tell theit story in a different way with their new ETHOS approach. Instead of casting the usual model, the brand chose individuals from the streets of Los Angeles. Ones that stand out and live by their own mantras just like Cult of Individuality themselves.
To coincide with the new change, Cult of Individuality has launched a movement that anyone can participate in. With the help of social media, you guys can share images of your own personal style on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest by using the hashtag “#1CULT” to be part of the “CULT.” With your entry you are also given the chance to be in Cult of Individuality’s monthly giveaway. So how many of you are excited to join the Cult?
For my styling post this week, I chose the Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinny in Axel for my weekend look. They are a clean pair with a great fit and are pitch black, the darkest that I have owned. I would say that the color palette of this look was inspired by the mood the cloudy weather has been making me feel. I have always been a fan of layered looks that look like you just threw everything on and can easily pair any bag with, whether it be a satchel or backpack.
I paired the jeans with an R13 leather vest, Saint Laurent belt, Brian Lichtenberg sweater and a pair of Nike Dunks. With every piece being virtually black, I wanted to break it up a bit with the silver in the belt and the blues in the shoes. When I thought of this outfit, I had the casual “borrowed boyfriend” vibe in mind. The juxtaposition of wearing the sweater slouchy and vest oversized with the fitted jeans helps keep the look tough without sacrificing a feminine feel. How many of you girls would wear a look like this?
The denim jacket has become a staple in many guys closet since it had its resurgence a few years back. Whatever you wear a blazer with, you can easily switch it out for a denim jacket. Pair it with a button up, tie and trousers for a more fun look or more casually by pairing it with another piece of denim.
