Denim collaborations are nothing new with J Brand. They have collaborated with Henry Duarte, Peter Pilotto, Erdem, and more in the past. This collaboration isn’t a new one either. They will be doing it again with another familiar face, Christopher Kane. Remember the pair that was spotted on Cheryl Cole from the 5×5 collaboration? This time it will be a full capsule collection.
For his coming Resort 2011 collection, jeanswear will be in both denim and other fabrications. Kane himself has said that he is “very excited about my new working relationship with J Brand. We have the potential to grow a very strong denim business and are thrilled to be working with the best in the business.” Great news is that this collection will be available worldwide. So stay tuned to see the designs when they are released.
January Jones was spotted at the Chanel Oscar Dinner Party at Madeo restaurant in Los Angeles, California. She wore, like many of the other stars, Chanel, but she made her look much more casual with her jacket. She chose the Textile Elizabeth and James Sid Denim Jacket in Blue River to pair with her dress.
I think the jacket made this look too casual for the nights event. If it were during the day, I think this look could have worked. This outfit would look great though to run errands in if she switched out the boots for some flat sandals. You can click here to purchase this jacket at ShopBop $295.
Alexander Skarsgard was spotted out for some breakfast with his family at The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood, California. He wore a pair of very worn in Acne jeans to go and eat. It also looks like he paired it with a chambray jacket. It is an interesting jacket, but it works on Alexander.
I cannot wait to see how Alexander’s movie Battleship is going to turn out. I will probably have to wait another year or two to just see the trailer, but it sounds like it is a very action packed movie. I am also interested in seeing how Rihanna does in her first film.
Emmanuelle Alt was spotted making her way to the Calvin Klein show during New York Fashion Week earlier this month. Taking a liking to the brand, like many editors, Emmanuelle chose a pair of J Brands for the show. This time she chose a pair of the Lovestory in Ink. These jeans are so classic and it’s a nice change to see her in another style and wash besides skinny and black.
Emmanuelle has said that she loves simpler jeans and thinks that they should not be designed. This explains why she hasn’t worn any of the styles by the houses that she consults for. Also, Emmanuelle recently stepped down from her consulting role at Balmain. She will be replaced by Melanie Ward from Helmut Lang. I’m interested in seeing how the fashion house will change. Both houses love super skinny jeans, but Balmain is more on the gritty side than Helmut Lang. You can click here to purchase these jeans at Singer22 for $178.
