Lindsay Lohan was spotted leaving a medical building in Santa Monica, California before getting some lunch with sister Ali. She chose to wear her studded Siwy jeans again. At first I thought these jeans were white, but they are a very pale shade of blue. Lindsay seems to never look washed out when wearing these jeans. She seems to only wear them with pale shades and still look alive.
Lindsay has definitely got some legal trouble coming up. After seeing the video, it didn’t look like Lindsay was at fault, in my opinion. It looks like the worker did know what was going on with the necklace. If she is innocent, I find it sad what people do for publicity these days. Nudie recently did a pop-up shop in Seattle, Washington at Deli Seattle. Inside the shop, was the theme “Meat Locker.” The interior was kept minimal, just like an actual meat locker. There were chains, steel tables, and concrete floor. There were also some unique detail that was placed on the floor, a painting of dripping blood going down a drain. I think it is a unique one, that some how worked because of the theme. Also the event showcased work by Seattle artist Justin Kane Elder and a back mural by Frankie Juarez.
Now for the denim, they showcased pairs containing hard worn washes, bleached down shades and countless variations of deep blue tone. Nudie also showed styles from their shirt line including music inspired tees and shirts developed in stripes, checks and twills. You can check out images of the pop-up shop below.
Chanel has joined the Rock trend and has gone grunge this season. I’ve noticed though…Karl is getting very dark with his designs lately. Towards the end of the past spring season the looks got very dark and somber, in both color and vibe. Also, in the Fall Couture 2010, the models walked down with perfectly styled disheveled hair, if that makes sense. Something that I know Coco Chanel probably won’t approve of, but it is Karl’s collection now and Coco’s soul is still present in each of the looks. Whether it be made distressed, in denim, tweed, or not, I think Coco should be proud of what he has built.
Karl Lagerfeld sent down many of the looks distressed, from the jeans to the jackets, all covered with moth-holes. The jeans are also a lot more flattering, I think, this season. Some were super tight, legging styles and others kept baggy. One thing that I love about the jeans this season is that they mock the look of burnt-out suede. One thing that I did dislike was the skirts over the jeans. I hope that is one trend that will never comeback. Overall, I think this would have to be one of my favorite Chanel collections due to the more relaxed vibe, rather than pristine chic that is usually shown. The other favorite would have to be the Fall 2010 Couture show. You can check out some of the looks below.
AG has shot a short film of the process of making a pair of jeans. This isn’t a documentary. It was shot by Independent Spirit Nominee Lee Toland Krieger. It shows two actors having a quick tryst and later the male actor getting inspired by his counterpart.
He envisions a pair of the 22 Years Destroyed for her and later during sketching he finds himself picking out the cotton and later again appearing in the factory. As the film goes on, you see him, along with others, choosing the fabric, creating his own detail and washing them, then finally finishing them off. He does all this in his own pair of the AG Matchbox in 2 Years Dark. As he holds on to the finishing pair he sees his muse in them and is completed. They then later drive off. The film also features an original remix of The Virgins’ One Week of Danger remixed by DJ Gigamesh. You can see the film above.
Lorna’s note – The short film does also contain some underwear scenes so if you are at work, click with caution.
