It’s obvious that our readers LOVE to see Celebrities in denim! It’s definitely fun to see what they are wearing and what they consider fashionable- but let’s face it, not many of us can afford to go all out and buy the designers they wear. But does that mean we should throw in the towel and wear sweats all the time? Heck no!

I think we probably have the some of the best dressed readers on the internet and the Denim Blog would love to showcase you! What do you wear day to day? What do you match with your favorite pair of jeans? What do you wear to the grocery store or to go out on the town? I love Anne Hathaway- she’s one of my favorite actresses. She’s smart, she’s funny, she doesn’t seem to care what people think. Which, I have to say, is evident here. The combination of the empire waist, spaghetti straps and short skirt on this dress doesn’t flatter her great figure.

There are so many other options out there, Anne! Since your stylist is MIA, may I make a suggestion or three? These would be so much better on you!

#1.) Current/Elliott “The Ruffle” dress in Night: This dress gives you the same “young” feeling with its slim straps and ruffles up the back- but instead of fitting like a babydoll dress, it’s a bit longer and has a lower, more natural waist, something that would really emphasize Anne’s hourglass figure.

#2.) Vince Denim Belted Dress: I love this dress. The dark wash is slimming, the belted waist draws attention to the waist, and let’s face it- covering up and leaving something to the imagination is a great idea.

#3.) Current/Elliott “The Heart” dress: I know, I know… I’m posting two Current/Elliott dresses. But what can I say? I keep going back to this one, I like it that much. If Anne insists on having an empire waist dress, this is the one she should get. Much longer skirt, much more flattering cut around the neck, and shoulders are sexy. The details make this dress- I adore the pleating at the bust and the wide hem.

#4.) Anne. You’re beautiful- please put on a bra. Again, going back to leaving some things to the imagination… You don’t need to ditch the undies to be sexy.

Brooke Burke was out and about in Malibu, wearing a pair of Dylan George bootcut jeans. Much to my dismay, I couldn’t find the exact pair she’s wearing, but Revolve have similar cuts and colors. I am usually out of the loop with newer designers and found this little tidbit interesting:

“After helping launch and establish William Rast and People’s Liberation, fashion mogul Danny Gueze was ready to start his own luxury lifestyle brand. Although his collection has European influence, it’s very much a California-minded brand with fine denims, tailored knits and stylish tops.”

She’s still beautiful, I don’t think she’s aged much at all in the last ten years.

Can you tell who was shopping for lingerie in PRPS last week? Hint: You gotta rub her the right way…

It’s Christina Aguilera, shopping for something new and exciting. I love her necklace- if you look closely, it says “Max” on it- her son’s name. How sweet!

I thought it would be fun to post some of my favorite denim trends through the years. It’s always good to have some new (or old) eye candy… I am especially a fan of Mark Wahlberg in CK- any chance to get him half naked is a good thing indeed.

Going back to the early 80s and 90s, when jeans became a fashion statement in addition to being a staple… Here are some of Calvin Klein Jeans ads – always racy, always pushing the envelope, and always, ALWAYS hot.

Calvin Klein was able to make denim sexy again and proved it time after time with his ad campaigns. There’s always been a bit of controversy with his photos – a fifteen year old Brooke Shields was one of the first models to create a lot of talk regarding her provocative poses and lines, such as, “Nothing gets between me and my Calvins.” He’s had to pull advertisements several times over the years for their content, as recently as his 2009 Line.

And the best for last…here are MY all time favorite CK ads. Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss modeled CK jeans together in the early 90′s, and did a pretty good job of heating up billboards across the country. Would it be ridiculous for me to print these off and hang them in my room like I’m fifteen? Haha.

Jennifer Love Hewitt really loves this pair of Rock and Republic Scorpions in Amethyst Wash. They’re a great pair, one of my personal favorites! She’s been seen several times in these, and I never noticed that they’re not hemmed until now. That’s so annoying to me, the rest of her outfit is so pulled together and then you see the cut off bottoms!

I think I’m one of about four people who thinks this trend sucks. But you know, who cares what I think? Here’s Gwen Stefani out in Hollywood, wearing a pair of what looks like they could, literally, be her boyfriend’s (well, husband’s, in her case) Levi jeans. I personally don’t think these are flattering on anyone… point and case being Gwen here. But like I said, who cares? Cute shoes, though!
