I’m very fortunate to live in a city with beautiful weather all year round, but there’s just something about the Summer that makes LA extra amazing. All the outdoor activities and events start to pop up and anything you do in the evening during the Summer is nothing short of magical. Since I am an LA native (and very proud) I thought I would share all the fun things to take advantage of in the Summer out here in LA, all while giving you denim outfit options to go with them.
Can you believe that overalls are back again? It’s weird because I remember wearing them around 2006 (of course, besides wearing them in the 90′s) and then putting them away, not expecting to take them back out for a long time. The silhouette has changed a bit to a more slouchy/tapered look, or you can go with your classic denim short overalls. Either way you are on trend and above are a few styles to get you going.
In celebration of Memorial Day here in the states, we thought we’d highlight the best, white skinny jeans you could rock in honor of the holiday. The skinny jean trend has been around for a while now and doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere, any time soon, so you might as well stock up!
Yes, white is a very scary color if you are a messy eater like I am, but as long as you have your tide stick handy and access to some club soda, you’ll be good. Pair these white jeans with a pop of color on top, a black tank or a blazer + pop of color combo. For shoes you can wear a nice heel or a cute boat shoe for the casual days. Now on to the good stuff, the white skinny jeans!
North Carolina used to be the mecca of denim production, as well as other textiles, but since the rise of out of country production, the market has dropped drastically. The percentage of people earning a check from the textile industry was 40% a half a decade ago and is now a mere 2%.
Raleigh Denim is not only an emerging denim company, but they are also changing the ways of production and bringing it back to where it was once a thriving industry. Raleigh Denim is of course based out of North Carolina, bringing you local materials (denim from Cone Mill’s White Oak plant) and artisinal methods (i.e. a button hole machine from 1941) to create the best denim they possibly can. They believe in old traditions and heritage mixed with new, contemporary styles which is what makes their company so unique.
