Denim Review: Lucky Brand Hayden Straight Leg Jeans

Lucky Brand Hayden Straight

I received these Lucky Brand Hayden straight leg jeans in Corolla for review. When first trying them on, I was really impressed by two things: the flattering cut and how soft they are! With a fabric composition of 92% cotton and 6% elastomultiester, 2% elastane, the fabric is very soft, with a good amount of stretch. It is also thick enough to provide a nice shape and give that flattering fit. One of the biggest gripes I have with jeans with a lot of stretch is they tend to lose their shape over time. I’ve been wearing these on a weekly basis over the past month or so, and they have held their shape pretty nicely, with minimal stretching.

The Hayden Straight Leg is a true straight leg style, with a 14.5″ leg opening. I chose the regular inseam, which is 32″, they hit me right at my ankles (I usually wear a 32-34″ inseam, for an ankle fit or a full length fit). These also have a mid-high rise which is 10″ in the front and 14.5″ inches in the back. One of the additional features is that these have a slimming panel in the front, which is designed to slim but is not at all constricting or uncomfortable. I got my normal size in these and found that it does fit slightly on the larger side but not enough to size down.

Although I’m an avid lover of dark washes, I chose the Corolla wash because I wanted something a little lighter for spring and summer. The wash is a nice mid/light blue with white undertones and tonal stitching details. There is subtle whiskering and fading down the front of the thighs and around the back near the pockets. The wash looks really great worn with white to bring out the undertones or bolder spring colors like yellow and cobalt blue.

One of the things that impressed me the most about these jeans was the attention to detail. I love that each rivet, both front and back is stamped with Lucky’s signature 4 leaf clover design. The design is incorporated in other places throughout as well, including with the front pocket lining and a small patch along the back. It’s a subtle, but nice touch. The coin pocket also has a unique design with a slit hole and curved bottom which nicely mirrors the curve of the front pockets.

Overall, I impressed by how these jeans managed to be slimming without being too constricting or stiff. The wash is great for a day-to-day wear and pairs nicely with so many different colors. I’m sure I’ll be wearing these jeans quite a bit this upcoming spring! You can buy these jeans online from Lucky’s Website.
