DENIM REVIEW: A Gold E Colette Skinny in Dark Knights

A Gold E Colette Dark KnightsA Gold E has to be one of my new favorite go-to brands for jeans at the moment. I haven’t found a more perfect pair while showering throw the women’s section than I have with these. The rise, length, fit in the legs down to the ankles is perfect for what I have been looking for.

I first fell in love with the Colette cut after trying them in the Rituel wash (which is a charcoal grey wash) and have been wanting to try out a classic black pair from the brand. So after seeing their Dark Knights wash, I knew I had to give them a try.

I took these in my usual size, a 27, and they fit just like the previous pair that I have. They are slim all the way down, but not suffocating around the ankle. The jeans also have a medium rise that allows more coverage and the way that the jeans are constructed, there is no fear of them slipping down. I would say that the fit is like a medium rise version of the Racer cut by Citizens of Humanity.

The Dark Knights wash does come in a thicker fabric than the Rituel. They first felt on the tighter side, but as you wear them they will stretch to fit. I have worn them for more than a week straight and they have molded to me rather than losing their shape. That’s also what I love about A Gold E jeans. They are a more affordable brand that didn’t sacrifice quality and are made in the U.S. (Los Angeles). This is something that is rare for affordable brands.

I also like the details in the jeans, they are kept very simple with their signatures. The back pocket, which is perfectly placed, has a tab reading the name of the brand. Also a signature on their jeans is the “E” on the coin pocket. It’s subtle, but grabs and brings attention to the brand.

Overall, whether you are a guy or girl, definitely give these a try. They will feel tight at first, but will only get more comfortable as you wear them. After having and wearing them for a while, it makes me want to stock up on more pairs. You can click here to purchase a pair from their website for $99.
