Boyfriend Jeans For Winter

Boyfriend jeans are more widely worn in the Spring and Summer months as they become a staple due to the lighter washes and looser fit, making the heat more easily bearable, however, they can be worn just as well during the Winter too! For those of you, like myself, from a colder climate who get a really cold Winter, you don’t have to put your boyfriend jeans away for 6 months of the year! I’ve rounded up some of the coolest blogger outfits for Wintertime boyfriend jeans looks as well as put my own outfits together for you to get some inspiration from.

When wearing a lot of layers though, the one tip I will give you is to pick a slimmer fitting boyfriend, either a skinny tapered boyfriend or one that’s more straight than baggy. The reason for this is because you will be wearing a lot of fabric layers so you need to keep the proportions in balance. If you have baggy jeans and baggy layers at the top, there’s a risk of looking sloppy and overwhelmed, especially for those who are more petite! Enjoy it!

One of my favourite ways to wear boyfriend jeans for Winter is with a turtleneck sweater in a pale shade and some flat ankle boots. This creates a really nice and relaxed silhouette with a cosy vibe to it. Of course this might not be warm enough for many of you, so layer on a longer coat and a scarf to pull it together. I recommend wearing the coat open though and the scarf draped loosely, this will just give it a little more edge and style instead of making it look too clean.

If flats aren’t your thing and you live somewhere slightly warmer, why not pair your boyfriend jeans with a fluffy, half cropped turtleneck sweater and some high heeled almond toe boots? This is a really chic look and when paired with a bobble hat and snood, you can’t go wrong. It sort of gives me that Parisian chic feel at the same time as being practical and pretty!

Now if both of those options above are too casual for you and you want something more pulled together, why not choose a skinny light wash boyfriend jean with a classic white blouse, but the key is layering over a nice trench coat or mac to give it some class and structure, then finishing it off with some nude heels, like those Louboutin Pigalle. This has to be one of my favourites! I think it’s more suited to the end of Winter or maybe an LA Winter, but with the coat worn open, you can’t go wrong!
