This weeks denim review is a guest review from our men’s Diesel reviewer, Adam. He’s spoken about quite a few Diesel jeans in the past, as well as Nudie, but we have a new review up today on the Diesel Tepphar 0831D from Mainline Menswear.

I’ve been a long time fan of Diesel, especially their denim, so today I will be reviewing the Tepphar 0831D. The Tepphar is a slim carrot cut, meaning it’s slouchy in the crotch and thighs, but skinny at the calves and ankles. For this pair, I went with my normal size (a 31) but they are a little bit looser than my usual pairs, especially in the thighs and waist due to the fit, but despite this, I still think they fit quite well. Also, they have the added advantage of being stretch denim for extra comfort. However, you would definitely need to size down from your normal waist size if you want them more fitted.

I’m a big fan of the 0831D wash, as it’s a beautiful mid blue with some nice lap whiskering, which is also present on the back of the knees. There are a few details such as a metal Diesel tag on the back just below the waist band and a ‘1978’ metal tag on the back pocket as well as the signature copper coloured metal studs/rivets. In terms of the type of wash, I would say it’s a casual, everyday jean that can be worn with easy clothing. It’s not the type of wash that you would dress up.

I would say in terms of comparing these Tepphar jeans to my usual Thavar cut, these are quite a lot looser from the knees up, so they are not as fitted as Thavar. The back pockets are also spaced a bit further apart and the yoke is straight across. They seem to have more of a Viker back pocket fit, if we are doing a comparison. The weight of the denim is about average for a Diesel stretch jean too, not too thin and not too thick. Quite comfortable.

Overall, for a pair in the lower price range for Diesel (£120), it is certainly worth adding to your wardrobe if you are on the look out for a nice everyday wear blue slim fitting jean. Buy these jeans online at Mainlinemenswear.co.uk.
