New Brand: Envius Denim
There is a brand new idea and concept on the scene when it comes to the closures of denim. One brand changing the way a button and zip fly works is Envius Denim. If you’re tired of seeing the same old run-of-the-mill denim, these jeans might intrigue you. We have seen different washes, cuts, styles, and colors, however nothing has ever been done to change the shape and style of women’s jeans so drastically, until now. This Los Angeles, California based company, has created a whole new closure for jeans, using metal.
Envius has designed the world’s first women’s denim line that integrates a utility patented, V-Jewellery and interchangeable pendant system into the jeans. They have already been labeled as ‘the V jeans’ at the trade shows and have been picked up by high-end boutiques across the country, such as Young and Fabulous in Austin and New York Speed in LA.
In a nutshell, this is how the system works: the V-Jewellery pieces literally just snap directly into and out of the denim. They offer 5 different finishes (antique gold, rose gold, matte silver, pewter and silver) so you can interchange any of the pieces to mix, match and compliment your outfit, jewellery and accessories. If you want to take it a step further, you can even interchange the center pendants. Each V-Jewellery piece comes with a smaller V-pendant standard (in the center), but it can be removed and interchanged with any of the other various, pendant pieces they offer.
While it may not be for everyone, Envius’ unique denim and jewellery integration is definitely an innovation in today’s fashion industry. If you are worried that they seem like a gimmick, the brand says their team focuses relentlessly on superior craftsmanship and top-notch quality, making sure that the fit is impeccable. Kevin Nielson and Chelsea Hunter (Envius founders and co-owners), together with their team of industry elite contractors have been working together on the design and implementation of this system for over 4 years and they are excited to finally reveal their product to the rest of the world.
Even though the brand is in its infancy, the Envius team members are far from newbies. Together they have a combined 75+ years of experience in the denim industry with such companies as Guess, J Brand, BeBe, Citizens, AG, Red Engine, Lucky, 7 for All Mankind, Rag and Bone and Rock & Republic.
Peter Chung, pattern maker from J Brand, was responsible for developing and designing the patterns that shaped their entire denim line from the rear waistband V cut-out detail to the integration of the revolutionary V-Jewelry buckle. Co-founder Chelsea Hunter then brought her nearly 10 years of professional denim fit modeling experience to the table. Hired by Red Engine, Guess, Lucky, and Marc Allison, she learned what it takes to create the perfect fitting pair of jeans and learned exactly how an incredible pair of jeans should look, fit and feel.
While their initial product launch may be modest, with a base of 16 unique pairs of denim, their focus was to build a strong foundation for their line first and foremost. They have meticulously crafted each piece with uncompromising revisions to fabric, pattern, design and fit until each piece was perfect. Their denim, from Cone in North Carolina, is washed to be luxuriously soft, comfortable and has an amazing recovery rate, meaning it won’t stretch out over time and will always fit you like a glove.
