Wearing Yellow For Spring Summer

Yellow is one of the hottest colours for Spring and Summer! It really livens up your outfit, whether you choose a bright shade of citrus yellow or you want something a little more mellow and choose a pastel yellow, it always manages to look bold, fresh and perfect for the warmer weather. Whenever I see someone wearing yellow, it always makes me want to smile! It’s such a happy colour, don’t you think? I have put together 6 different outfit collages and a few of my own yellow inspired outfits so you can see how to incorporate it into your wardrobe for the coming season!

One of the best ways to wear yellow is by choosing a bold shade and then colour blocking it. I find pairing a bright yellow coat with dark blue skinny jeans and a red top works wonders! It’s so visually effective and pretty, you can’t go wrong with it! You can keep your footwear classic by choosing black and then opt for neutral accessories in gold!

If you want something a little more casual, try wearing a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans with a paler yellow top! The combination of a lighter yellow with lighter blue denim is beautiful and it always feels easy. I chose tan sandals and a belt and then a colourful bracelet just to spruce things up a little, but then added another pop of yellow with a bag. This is great for day time shopping! I can see Alessandra Ambrosio or Heidi Klum in this.

If you live in a warmer climate and you don’t want to incorporate denim, why not try a pretty lemon yellow summer dress? It’s feminine, easy and beautiful at the same time! Keep your shoes and accessories in a tan shade and then choose a lighter yellow bag and you are all set. I get a Taylor Swift vibe when I look at this one! It’s perfect for a picnic in the park or a garden party.

If you have a more edgy and tougher style, why not choose a pair of bold yellow skinny jeans? You can either go with mustard or a full on citrus yellow to make a statement, but the key to making it tough is with black. I chose a pair of black boots and a black leather jacket as these really give an edge to any outfit! Keep the tank top simple in white, choose a heavier chain necklace and then a yellow tote too. You are all set!

If you want something classy and smart to wear to a dinner out or even to work (providing you are allowed jeans) then why not choose a look like this? Opt for a statement yellow blazer to pair with your dark blue or white skinny jeans and then go with neutrals. Beige or nude shoes and clutches are perfect to finish this type of look off!

Again, this could be another evening or work inspired outfit (if you work in fashion) and I think it’s a great way to wear yellow if you prefer darker tones. I went with darker grey skinny jeans and a light grey tee, then layered over a black blazer and chose black heels. This is a really classic outfit for anyone, but the pop of yellow just comes in the form of a clutch. When you hold it you will make a statement, but when you put it down, you will still look classic! I can see the likes of Kim Kardashian in this.

If you like fun outfits, why not choose neon yellow? I have a neon yellow denim jacket and bag here which I incorporated into my everyday jeans and tee look. It really stands out and screams Summer to me!

This is another version of colour blocking, but with less yellow. I think pink, blue and yellow work really well together when it comes to Spring, especially in pastel tones, so why not pair some white skinny jeans with a pink blazer, blue shoes and then a sprig of yellow with a bag? You can’t go wrong!
