Denim Review: Rebecca Minkoff Thompson Twill Mid Rise Skinny Jeans

My denim review this week is on the Rebecca Minkoff Thompson Twill Mid Rise Skinny Jeans in Red. This is my first time trying Rebecca Minkoff denim since she launched her denim line a few seasons ago and I have to say, I am impressed! I do love Rebecca Minkoff as a brand in general though since I own multiple bags and a few jewellery pieces, so it’s not really that much of a surprise to me that I like her denim too!

One of the best things about these jeans though is the price point! They are only $98 and are still made in LA with high quality, locally-sourced fabric. How amazing is that? For a jean that fits this well and is made in country, you definitely wouldn’t think they cost only $98! More like $198! Another great thing about the Rebecca Minkoff denim is that with every pair sold, it triggers a donation to NO KID HUNGRY that can help connect a child in need with up to 20 meals.

“No child should grow up hungry in America but one in five children struggles with hunger. Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign is ending childhood hunger in this nation by connecting kids in need with nutritious food and teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. You can help surround kids with the nutritious food they need where they live, learn and play. With each sale of Rebecca Minkoff denim, a donation will be triggered directly to No Kid Hungry. This donation enables the No Kid Hungry campaign to help connect a child in need with up to 20 meals, such as school breakfast and summer meals.”

Now moving onto the fit, the Thompson is a mid rise cropped skinny jean which has such a flattering fit. The rise is that perfect in-between height so it doesn’t really give you muffin top and it’s not high enough to be considered a mom jean at all. It’s really skinny all the way down and they hit at my ankles without really bunching, so they are super sleek. The back pockets are also really nice as they are slightly angled and lean inwards towards the middle seam for a more flattering fit that curves around the butt. They are a little bit narrower than most pockets, but because of the curve, this is something I am all for! It makes them look really good! As soon as I put these on, I fell in love with them.

They are a power stretch twill denim so they are incredibly comfortable, but I would say they are a bit thicker than the thinner denim that I am used to at the moment, but it was actually a refreshing change because I feel like these have a suction and hold me in everywhere rather than just covering me. If that makes sense. The colour is literally a primary red and despite owning almost every colour in the rainbow when it comes to jeans, I never actually owned a pair of bright red jeans (only burgundy), so these definitely filled that void and since primary red is a statement colour at the moment, these are also perfectly on trend! I took a size 27 in these which is my regular Paige, J Brand, COH, Rag & Bone etc size and they do run true to size. Slightly tighter at first, but they give pretty quickly to be comfortable.

I literally can’t think of anything bad about these, especially not for their price point. I’m still finding it hard to believe that these jeans are so well constructed, made in LA with locally sourced denim, have a fantastic and flattering fit and a purchase donates money to charity, all for $98. It’s amazing! I really can’t express my love for these anymore than I have and I always do tell the truth. I will point out every negative and positive when it comes to a pair of jeans I’m reviewing, but I really can’t find anything bad about these at all, and I mean that. I definitely recommend these jeans to you and I can’t wait to try more Rebecca Minkoff jeans! Buy these online at her website by clicking here.
