Denim Review: Hudson Nico Mid Rise Super Skinny Jeans in Versailles

My denim review this week is on the Hudson Nico Mid Rise Super Skinny jeans in Versailles print. I reviewed a printed pair of Hudson jeans before, their London print, which I thought were so cool, but these are a lot more wearable as the print is more subtle, so check out what I think of them below!

The Nico is one of Hudson’s most classic pairs of skinny jeans with a flat pocket. They are incredibly popular among celebs and bloggers as I find them to be more versatile than the signature flap pockets that the brand is known for. The fit has a mid rise of roughly 9 inches and it actually hits at a great height as it hides any muffin top and makes you feel secure. The inseam is about 30″ so it’s a regular skinny for those of us with shorter legs or it acts as a cropped skinny for the taller ladies. The leg opening is 10″ too so you can tell that they are a super skinny, all the way down from thigh to ankle, but due to the incredible amount of stretch they have to them, they are really easy to get on and off! I’ve always found them to be really flattering and the back pockets are placed quite nicely to give the butt a lift, but in this particular Versailles print, you can’t really tell because the print is all around.

Speaking of the Versailles print, it’s a unique design featuring an inspiring sunset over the skyline of Paris, France and I think it’s gorgeous! I originally saw these at the press day in London last year and fell in love with them right away. They are very magical to look at and it’s almost like looking at a photo! The common thing I find with printed jeans is that they can often make your legs look wider than they are and also shorter than they are, however with these, that doesn’t happen at all! That’s something I have found incredibly rare to find! I think it’s down to the fact that the base of the jeans is black and the building print starts around the knee area, so you can still see that length at the thighs. There is a mottled purple effect on the left side at the hip to represent the sky, but that doesn’t cause too much trouble, it just adds to that asymmetrical design these have.

I honestly and truly love these and can’t wait to wear them more! They make a statement in a subtle way and are really fashionable, all while remaining classic and incredibly wearable. I don’t think you can ask for more in a printed jean! In terms of sizing, I took a size 27 and that’s my regular Hudson size, along with my Paige, Rag & Bone and J Brand size also. They definitely run fairly true to size and are very comfortable to wear too! I wore these for quite a while and didn’t find them to be restrictive or annoying at any point, even when sitting. What do you think of them? Buy them online at Hudson for $240.
