Denim Review: Yoga Jeans Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans in Rinse Indigo

I got the chance to review a pair of Yoga Jeans, which I was interested in trying after first hearing about the concept and brand. When they offered to send me a pair, I chose the classic mid-rise skinny jeans. They have a 9″ rise and I would say that these fit more like a low to mid-rise, as they hit me right below my hip bones. The inseam is 34″ and the leg opening is 12.” The fit is skinny throughout the legs but does open slightly more around the calf, so fits less like a jegging and more of a true skinny jean.

I chose the rinsed indigo, which is a great dark blue wash. The wash is really solid and has goldenrod contrast stitching and dark copper rivets and buttons. The pockets are large and sit slightly higher on the butt, which is really flattering.

The biggest thing I was excited about when trying these jeans was the fabric. It is an 82% Cotton, 16% Polyester, and 2% elastane blend. While I haven’t done Yoga in my pair, they certainly do not disappoint when it comes to comfort. The fabric feels like a mid-weight denim, and isn’t too heavy or too thin, that it no longer feels like denim. It does have a slimming fit but is not too constricting or tight.

Since I got them last week, I’ve worn mine a couple of times to work, where I spend a significant portion of the day sitting. I haven’t noticed a lot of loss of shape. They have stretched a bit since when I first got them but more to the point of fitting me better and are more comfortable.

Overall, I was really impressed with how comfortable these jeans are and how unique the fabric is. While they have had a bit of stretching since I’ve worn them, they haven’t become shapeless as many pairs become, so I am interested in seeing how the shape holds up in the long run.
