Marithe+Francois Girbaud SS13 Denim

Marithe+Francois Girbaud recently marked their 40 years in the fashion industry with the relaunch of their Spring/Summer 2013 collection. This will be the brands official comeback, after almost shuttering its doors last year. I wasn’t really familiar with this brand until now, but they definitely have some statement pieces in this collection which you can see in the gallery below. I have also included some information from the press release below.

The Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which takes inspiration from the lands of Amerasia where East meets West, has signature pieces with eye-popping statement details and reintroduces Marithe+Francois Girbaud’s authentic NoWater NoChemical denim range alongside its designer line. Integrating Sanskrit with Feng Shui energy Le Jean De line is a collection of distinct, cool denim pieces rife with trans-seasonal appeal which sees the mutation of the ‘Shuttle’ jean silhouette transformed into a Para-Shuttle jacket with bolder propositions seeing fly fetish fastenings on skirts and dresses. Each piece has been carefully crafted to radiate a water-worn and sun-softened texture using the revolutionary water free WATTwash and Ozone treatments.

The M+FG Design line takes traditional tailoring and adds new sartorial elements. Although the rules of power dressing in deep colours are maintained M+FG Design turns the look on its head for a more directional yet accessible wardrobe which says carefree. Highlights from the women’s line include buttery soft, asymmetric leather waistcoats which billow at the hip, side panelled pencil skits, twisted seam shorts with curved side pockets and printed three-tone oversize silk tunics. M+FG Design combines the best of French je ne sais quoi, Italian tailoring and British avant-garde style. Both lines incorporate never-before-seen, experimentally playful, silhouettes such as the boot cuff ankle signage offset by practically for everyday use.
