Denim Review: Tallwater Kimora Slim Boot Jeans
After my post on denim with longer inseams, I was contacted by Tall Water, a brand that specializes in jeans for taller women. They sent me a pair of their Kimora Slim Boot cut jeans to try.
Tall Water’s slogan is jeans for Tall Women by Tall Women. I think that this really true. The brand is particularly aimed at those who are 5’9″ and above and they offer sizes 4- 16. I took these in a size 8. One of the first things I noticed about the fit, is not only do they have a long inseam (38″) but the other details are more suited for someone who is taller, I feel as though the scale of the entire jeans are based on a taller model. One of the biggest things I noticed this on was the rise. The rise is higher and hits just below my hip bones, so it still is a low rise jean. The slim boot has a 16″ leg opening and fits me slim through the leg, and then has a straight leg opening below the knee. I like that the cut is closer to a straight leg than a boot cut and is not too wide.
Next, the inseam. I normally wear a 33-35″ inseam and this pair has a 38″ inseam, so I do have a lot of length on these. I’ve worn them with heels but still have more overhang than I’d like, so I am planning to have them hemmed, so I can wear them more often.
I was pleasantly surprised by both the wash and fabric of the jeans as well as the details. The wash was one of the first things I noticed when I received them, it is a darker evenly dyed wash. The fabric is thicker and has a bit of stretch, but not a ton.
Something that really stood out to me was the pocket lining, which is made from a cute plaid fabric lining. The coin pocket is also cut a bit differently and is more of a slit anchored by grommets. The back pockets are on the larger side and hit square on the butt.
Overall, I was really impressed with these jeans, one of my favorite aspects was that the cut of the entire jean, not just the inseam, is suited to a taller frame. The attention to details and craftsmanship on these jeans was a really nice touch. You can find out more about the brand online at their website.
