What To Wear On New Years Eve

As we are about to ring in the new year tomorrow night, we thought it would be fun to put together some looks that are appropriate for New Years Eve. Everyone gets the chance to dress up and have fun to welcome 2013 and each of us here at DenimBlog have styled a look we love and would wear to a party. Two of the looks, from myself and Jennifer, consist of ladies jeans, Jonathan has created a man’s look involving jeans and Chanelle has done a non denim outfit and opted for a sequin dress. What jeans are you planning on wearing? Happy new year everyone!

Lorna’s Look:

For my New Years Eve look, I wanted to make it glam and add some sequins and glitter to spruce it up a little. I find at this time of year sequins and glitz are incredibly popular and they really make a look stand out. I opted to style the James Jeans Couture skinny jeans in Vesper with a Lipsy Sequin Peplum top. I used the James Jeans as a base for the outfit because they are so flattering and comfortable, they will keep you looking sleek and pain free all night. Being that the top is a marine shade, it really matches the wash of the jeans, just like the shade of the matching Charlotte Olympia Priscilla Glitter Platform Pumps.

I wanted to add a little colour to the outfit, so I chose an Emilio Pucci Burgundy Square Clutch to hide all your belongings and for the jewellery, keeping it quite glam, I opted for a Michael Kors Cream & Gold Chronograph Watch, a Nadri Crystal Filigree Bangle Bracelet and a Monica Vinader Siren 18-karat gold-vermeil lapis lazuli ring.

Jonathan’s Look:

I wanted to go very dapper with my New Year’s look, being that it is New Year’s. So I chose a classic pair of black denim with no embellishments; the black J Brand Kane jeans. I paired these with a velvet blazer by Alexander McQueen, a Lanvin shirt, Mulberry belt, Burberry bow tie, and Church’s oxfords. A dapper look is not complete without some cuff links, so I finished it off with a pair by Bottega Veneta. So how many of you guys are going to don a look like this with your denim to ring in the New Year?

Jennifer’s Look:

For my outfit, I chose these Joe’s Jeans Coated Silver Skinny jeans. I was really drawn to the shiny silver color and thought they were the perfect statement for New Year’s Eve! I really like the combination of blue and silver, so I chose this bright blue Chelsea Flower silk wrap top and paired it with this Maje leather trimmed twill jacket for added warmth. I finished the look with these Monkia Chaing Silver Pumps, this cuff from Baublebar, and this Zara box chain clutch.

Chanelle’s Look:

I always love adding a little sequins to my look for New Years Eve, it’s festive and you feel amazing in them. I absolutely love this dress by H&M and it happens to be on trend with Pantone’s color of 2013 which is Emerald. I accessorized the look with gold, like the clutch and cocktail ring (one on each hand is an elegant way to wear rings for a night out) and tied the look in with black pumps (YSL’s are a dream of mine) and a black leather jacket. I chose knee highs to keep warm because I think they are a step up from tights. Have a FABULOUS NYE and a happy and prosperous 2013!
