Denim Review Update: Koral Los Angeles Skinny Jeans in Merlot
I wanted to do a bit of an update to my original Koral Los Angeles Skinny Jeans in Merlot review (which you can see here) as I have worn them numerous times over the past few months.
I wanted to start by saying that I have worn these probably 7 times now with a full days wear each time and usually by now jeans have stretched out quite a bit and got baggy, however these haven’t even stretched out an ounce or become baggy anywhere at all. They have really held their shape perfectly. You would think that if these didn’t stretch out or give then they would be really uncomfortable, but that’s not the case with these at all. They are very stretchy and so comfortable to wear, you don’t feel any restrictions while wearing them at all.
I’m actually really really impressed with Koral Los Angeles. Considering it’s a new denim brand on the scene (even though it’s by the creators of 7 For All Mankind), they have entered the market at full force. I find sometimes that brands usually need to grow into what they are, but Koral knows exactly what it is from the very beginning, which is amazing.
The only down side I have found with lots of wear with these jeans is that they do transfer colour a little bit, only a really small amount, but I have noticed that if I am wearing something light like a bag then it will be slightly tinged pink, but only very minimal. I find this happens more often than I would like with jeans though, so it’s not really a big deal. They haven’t transferred any colour to my white or cream tops though which is really good.
Another amazing thing about these is the fact that they are so versatile. Usually coloured jeans can be quite hard to wear with lots of different things, but I have found these just as easy to wear as a pair of dark blue or black jeans because this particular shade of burgundy is beautiful. It’s got rich deep undertones to it which makes it stand out, but at the same time, since it’s dark, it goes with almost everything. I’ve included 3 different outfits in the gallery below so you can see how easy they are to wear.
I usually don’t do updated denim reviews as I don’t wear the jeans all that often, I rotate my pairs a lot, but these have been a pair of jeans that I have kept out purely because I enjoy wearing them so much. They are the best burgundy jeans that I own and I can’t wait to try more pairs from the brand. Have any of you had a chance to try Koral yet? If there is anything you would like to know about these jeans then do leave a comment and I will get back to you. You can buy Koral online at Shopbop.com.

What is the fabric composition?
They are 91.5% cotton, 6% polyester and 2.5% lyocell. I’m usually very irritable with polyester though as it’s scratchy and itchy, but I can’t even feel the amount in these jeans at all. They feel more like silk so I was suprised to know they had it in.
ooh lyocell! thats why! Super soft! They sound Lovely!
Can you get them in the UK?
No they aren’t available here yet, but Shopbop has this pair on sale and you can pay the customs fees at the checkout which is so useful!
Hey Lorna, have you ever tried Uniqlo jeans? If yes, how do you feel about them? (sizing, fit, fabric, etc..)
Hi Helen! I actually haven’t tried that brand before, I am familiar with them though, but I haven’t ever tried them, sorry!!
Hey, I finally got my pair. You were right, I was so impressed with them! I had to buy the black pair at the shopbop sale too. Love love love them.
Oh I’m glad you love them! They are amazing jeans!
