4th Of July Denim Styling Inspiration

We thought it would be fun to put together a little styling post in time for the 4th of July. We each took a colour jean/short in red, white or blue, and styled our outfit around that, combining the 3 colours in each. It was a lot of fun and hopefully it might give you some inspiration for your 4th of July! What do you think of them?

I definitely had a great time doing this! Since I am not American myself, I went all out on this outfit making it as patriotic as I could. I chose to work with the J Brand Zoey Triple Zip Jeans in Lipstick because I love the bright red tone they have to them and the quirkiness of the zippers. I combined these jeans with a Topshop Structured White Blazer to add the white and a Splendid Navy Ribbed Tank Top to add the blue. The Vince Camuto Signature Prima Pumps compliment the blazer nicely by adding some more white and they also class it up because of the stiletto heel and pointed toe. If that wasn’t American Flag enough, I then added a Lacoste American Flag Tote and a Star Bracelet from Frills & Company to really set it off.

I think just by looking at this outfit, you can tell it’s American inspired and will definitely work well if you plan on going all out this 4th of July! I recently wore a red, white and blue outfit myself for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee since we share the same flag colours as you guys, so I had fun with that one too, although I had blue jeans, a white sweater and red bag, so it was a bit reversed. I would have loved to have worn something like this one though!

While I love dressing up, I prefer outfits that don’t look too themed. I chose these Current/Elliott Rolled skinny jeans in this light blue wash, which I thought would look really nice contrasted with red. The cropped fit is great for warmer weather and can be rolled up or down depending on which you prefer. I chose this strapless bustier top from Parker because I loved the red color and the detailing on the bodice. These Alaia studded leather sandals add both the touch of white to complete the theme but also add a bit of shine the the look. I finished it with these Elizabeth and James mixed metal bangles and this summery Lauren Merkin cork clutch.

When I think of jeans and summer together, I either think Siwy or lace-up shorts. I decided to go with the now classic Siwy Camilla in Snowstorm (click here to buy at Singer22) for this one. Since this is a 4th of July post, I decided to add some stars to the look. I chose the Stars T Shirt from Current/Elliott. Now for the accessories. To keep the sun away from your eyes I chose the Cat Eye Sunglasses by The Row. The beanie is by Rag & Bone (no longer available) and the bevy of bracelets are by Aur├®lie Bidermann, Kenneth Jay Lane, Alexander McQueen, Chan Luu (all available at Net-A-Porter). The rings are by Lanvin, Dannijo, and Pamela Love (all at SSENSE) and now finally the key piece to finish the look, shoes. I chose a simple pair of nude Lanvin flats from Net-A-Porter.

I decided to go with flats this time around because I think boots would be a bit expected and I think nude flats are a staple piece that every girl should have. I was thinking about choosing the pair with the chain ankle strap, but I think that would have been too much overkill with the embellishments when paired with all the jewelry. What I like about this look is that it is not just a look for the holiday. It can work just anytime in the summer or just everyday in California.
