MetSS2012 3307 LOOK BOOK: MET Spring/Summer 2012

This is the new Spring/Summer 2012 Look Book (taken from their runway show) for MET Jeans. They are never a brand to be shy in the detailing and distressing department, but this season they took it even further! They have extreme floral prints, bright colours, metallic leopard prints and much more! I have included some information from the press release below. I love those leopard print jeans above!

MET, leading Italian premium denim brand, has launched their collection for Spring-Summer 2012. The new collection takes its inspiration from the different sides of the Greek island of Mykonos: from the picturesque whitewashed houses and windmills, surrounded by the deep blue sea; to Mykonos, the Mecca of nightlife with its bright neon lights, bustling streets lined with bars, clubs and throngs of partygoers. The new collection from MET embraces the Mykonos inspired themes with different styles and colour palettes, although denim remains the focus throughout.

The lightness of the summer is interpreted with the use of bright white in precious, delicate lace, silk, lightweight cottons and raw effect linen and infused with a range of blue denim tones reflecting the townscape of Mykonos island and the surrounding sea. Must have pieces from the collection: “Jen” boyfriend fit jeans in a faded blue denim; “Gechinoge” skinnies with leopard print pattern created from distressed denim markings; “X-Pampelonne” two-tone dip dye denim shorts, skirts and skinny jeans; and finally “Soul flower” shorts and jeans – distressed denim contrasted with a delicate white lace embellishment at the hem, typical of the Mediterranean culture. Comfortable, versatile separates, essential for any summer wardrobe.

Simple and natural, MET s reinterpretation of the 1970s hippie chic. Bold floral prints dominate, giving an overall hint of bohemian: on denim jackets, shorts, skirts and pants (natural and neon colour palettes); and also lightweight fabrics, jersey and cotton, for dresses and jumpsuits. Key pieces: the “Geffer” skinny pants in micro-floral denim, “Carine” hot pants and “Jessica” skinnies in a vintage floral denim, and “Lemy” salmon pink abstract floral crochet vest layered on dark grey jersey – all essential pieces to pull off the flower power look, a guaranteed favourite for SS12.

The timeless 5 pocket skinny “X-Fit” jeans in the full range of pastel colours, from baby pink and powder blue to vanilla yellow and lavender purple. Highlights include: “Lola” acid wash denim in three tone dip dye and silver stud detailing, on shorts, pants and vest; and the “Janice” graffiti print frayed denim hot pants – all must-have pieces for the long summer days and nights.
