Nudie Jeans House launches in Los Angeles

Nudie have just launched their Nudie Jeans House in Los Angeles earlier this month. It’s a hybrid between a denim sanctuary, a retail space and a wholesale showroom. The compact house-like structure has elements of Scandinavian design instilled with a Californian vibe and focuses on providing a bespoke service on their core product.

Located in a prominent shopping area in West Hollywood off Melrose Avenue, the 600-square foot space is a stone’s throw from major stores Fred Segal, American Rag and New Era. The compact house-like design demonstrates an evolving and refreshing retail approach from Nudie Jeans, providing specialist customer service, a bespoke repairs and alterations clinic, in an environment where visitors can engage in a complete Nudie Jeans experience in an integrated and interactive way.

Committed to the art of denim and defying fast fashion, the Nudie Jeans House carries an extensive range of men’s and women’s core denim product alongside the Backbone line, a 100% organic basics collection – the perfect accompaniment to denim. Every three months, concepts of the brand are showcased in a creative light, engaging visitors in the pillars which identify Nudie Jeans today. The Organic story kicks it all off, with the award winning Repair: Reuse: Reduce program, which sees old Nudie Jeans repaired and recycled for sale, to follow suit in November.

Resident Ambassador Cody Cameron says, “This is a novel concept, stripping the brand back to the core product and offering a personalized service to enhance it. The passion for denim is the essence of the project.” US Sales Director Michael Irving comments, “There is a history and huge sensibility for denim in Los Ange- les, and the brand has seen significant growth here in the past few years, therefore the Nudie Jeans House is an exciting opening for us. It is an opportunity to engage our existing followers, but also the perfect base to introduce new customers to the product and philosophy of the brand. For us, it was about slowing the communication down, concentrating on one message at a time, and listening to our customer.”

The space features exposed wood beams and an abundance of natural light are juxtaposed against antique fixtures and black chalk walls. A mid-century architectural table takes center stage displaying denim, whilst a traditional PFAFF sewing machine sits in the window ready for repairs. Externally, wraparound wood decking with built-in BBQ serves as the perfect oasis to chill and enjoy the sun. The Nudie Jeans House operates as the west coast wholesale office from Monday-Wednesday, and welcomes the public Thursday-Saturday 11am – 7pm, Sunday 11am – 5pm, located at 710 N. Edinburgh Ave (between Melrose & Waring). You can see some photos of the new space in the gallery below.
