Denim Review: Paige Premium Lou Lou Tulip Flared Jeans In Sardinia
This weeks review is on a very different pair of jeans to what I would normally wear, flared jeans! I chose the Paige Premium Lou Lou Tulip Petite jeans in Sardinia.
Baring in mind that I never ever wear flared jeans, I’m always in skinnies or straight leg jeans, these were such a suprise for me! I saw them on a few celebs and I thought how good they looked on them and how flattering. I figured, if I pair them with really high wedges then they would work a lot better for my figure. I have quite small legs so normally anything bigger than a straight leg swamps me and makes me look all out of proportion. But wearing high heels gives the illusion that my legs are a lot longer and I love the way they look!
I wanted to start by saying how much I actually love this wash! A lot of washes tend to look the same and they never have that depth to them or the detail that really makes them stand out. With this Sardinia wash, there is definitely a deep blue depth to it and it feels like the jeans have such a rich texture because of how strong the wash is. Those of you who are as picky about jean washes as I am will understand what I mean, it’s definitely the kind of wash that can make even the worst cut jeans look really good, bring them to life on their own all because of the wash. I think it’s so pretty! It’s dark but in a lot of lights it has a medium tone to it.
The fit of these jeans is just… Wow! They have the classic Paige Premium flattering fit which is perfectly fitted on the butt and the pockets are positioned so carefully to really enhance and shape the bum. They are very slim fitted all the way to the knees so it keeps them extremely feminine and then they flare out into a mini bell bottom. The hem opening is definitely big enough to cover your shoes to make you look like you have extra long legs. I do have quite large feet so I guess that’s why my shoes poke through a bit, haha! I would definitely recommend wearing these so they almost hit the ground, it’s a lot more figure enhacing this way. I chose the petite length because my legs are really not long at all, the petite runs at around 33.5″ where as the taller ladies can go for the regular length which runs at about 35.5″. The rise is also not too high and not too low and Paige always makes sure she eliminates that builders butt syndrome by making the back rise just a little higher.
Overall, I’m really glad I tried flared jeans. I find when clothes are worn right and you wear the right shoes and make only one piece the focal point of an outfit or just keep it all simple etc, you can make anything work. There is always a way around something and making it work for your shape and size. I’ve already worn these jeans out twice and I loved them! They have only stretched out a small bit so far so that’s great as well! I know I say it quite often, but I would honestly recommend these Lou Lou Tulip jeans to any of you who are looking for a flared jean but want to keep it as feminine and slim fitting as possible. These jeans tick both boxes! Like I said, they come in petite and regular lengths and they also come in quite a few washes! Make sure you check out the gallery below, I included lots of photos of me wearing them for you to see the fit. Buy these jeans at Paige Premium for $189.

wow, these jeans make your legs look so long…BTW, how tall are you if I may ask?
I’m around 5ft 5″ with no shoes on
But my torso is kind of long so my legs end up being a bit short, haha.
you look way taller in those pics. Keep up the great work…love your reviews.
Thanks Izzy
I think it’s the 5 inch wedges I had on
They look awesome on you!
Thank you
Hi there. I just started following your blog a couple of months ago. I love the look of these jeans. I am short (5’2″) and like you have a longer torso. My legs are the shortest part of y body so it’s always difficult for me to find jeans that fit nicely. Even petites can be be long on me. I may give these a try.
P.S. I absolutely adore your top. Would you mind sharing where you purchased it from?
Thanks so much.
wow I don’t usually like flared jeans much but these are awesome! Just curious, how many pairs of jeans do you own?
Lorna, those are absolutely gorgeous on you! You need more flares!!
i was wondering how many pairs of jeans Lorna has too! must be hundreds!!
xx
These look gorgeous on you though, a nice change from skinnies, i must get a pair
Hi Rachel
I got it from a shop here in the UK, Miss Selfridge
It’s not too expensive either! Definitely give them a try, if you can wear high enough heels the 33.5 inseam should be good!
Thanks Ruth!
And Sahra and Dee, you 2 are funny! I’m actually not sure on the exact amount, I’ve lost count a long the way but I’ve sold a lot of my jeans, if I didn’t I’m sure I would have over 200. So I would assume right now I have about 140 ish? I’ve been collecting them for 5 years now
140! oh my god! so jealous!
Don’t take it as an exact amount though lol
[...] I’m not sure which brand Rachel’s jeans are as I can only find these front photos. But 7 For All Mankind are focusing on their trousers for Fall, a few other brands are bringing out a flared jean and a few celebs are wearing the trend! It will be nice to see this trend take off a bit as it’s something different! I love this outfit on her! You can read my review on a pair of Paige Premium flared jeans by clicking here. [...]
Nice job! Great review and pics!

Its all 70s for Spring Summer 2011
I’ve only ever seen her in the skyline, verdugo and layne cargos, I’ve not seen her in the Lou Lou yet, hopefully I will soon! Thank you for the compliment
