DenimBlog: What inspiration goes into designing a Frankie B. jean?

Most of the time it starts with fabric. once I feel and see a new denim usually ideas start coming in right away. I’m often inspired by street fashion, travelling, music but most of all I would say that it comes from a consumers point of view as me being the consumer I’m always looking for what I want next in my closet.

DenimBlog: What is your latest collection about?

Our latest collection is called “Punk Goddess” and it’s inspired by Debbie Harry in the 80′s at CBGB’s

DenimBlog: Why did you decide to create your brand?

I started Frankie B. because I thought there might be other women out there that would like to wear my jeans. I love fashion and I wanted to work at something that I enjoy doing and have a passion for.

DenimBlog: What has been your favourite memory/experience since Frankie B. was founded?

I would say my most memorable moments are our fashion shows. getting to project my entire vision is very stressful but also so satisfying.

DenimBlog: Do you have a favourite cut you have designed?

My favorite cut to this day is our basic 5 pocket low rise boot cut. So flattering and comfortable.

DenimBlog: How many jeans do you own?

Not enough but probably a couple hundred.

DenimBlog: Which jean has been the most popular overall?

Our classic low rise signature ‘F’ pocket boot cut is still our number one seller. Our most popular fun jean is hands down our heart pockets.

DenimBlog: We all love denim, but what is it that makes denim so important to you?

To me denim is a staple in my wardrobe. I feel that as long as I have a great fitting jean that I feel comfy and sexy in, I throw on a cute tee shirt and some platforms and I’m good to go. I always feel more confident in jeans than any other item in my wardrobe.

DenimBlog: Are there any new trends coming out next season that we should be keeping an eye out for?

You will see skinny cropped styles in interesting washes paired with our light weight denim boyfriend blazer for Spring Summer 2010. So Dixie’s Midnight runners!!!

DenimBlog: The boyfriend jeans trend has been a huge hit this season, will we be seeing anymore of this trend from you?

We actually did a new twist on the boyfriend and included a boyfriend trouser as well as a boyfriend blazer. Super cute!

DenimBlog: What makes your brand so different from the others out there?

I think what sets us apart is we are not your basic denim we are known as the going out jean. the fun jean! Our fit is amazingly sexy but also tasteful and comfortable.

DenimBlog: What are your denim predictions for next season?

We are still seeing a lot of requests for skinny’s and leggings with some vintage details.

DenimBlog: What is the best feature of a Frankie B. jean? (cut, fit, wash etc)

Frankie B. is known for our fit!

DenimBlog: I know Frankie B. was named after your daughter Frankie but what does the B stand for in Frankie B.?

My dad passed away before my daughter Frankie was born and his name was Barry. So I gave her only his first initial so that people would always ask what it was for and that would give us the opportunity to keep his memory alive.
