Fashion Week: G-Star Fall 2009

From Style.com:

With two pianists behind a semitransparent screen providing the live soundtrack for G-Star‘s Fall show at the Hammerstein Ballroom, models in dropped-crotch jeans and zipper-covered tops marched their way down, off, and around the runway. The look was tough and a little postapocalyptic. Collars were oversize and upturned, as if to protect these night owls from something sinister around the bend; coats, meanwhile, seemed ready to double as parachutes or floatation devices. Maybe we’re reading too much into it, but there did seem to be less of the usual exuberance we’ve come to expect from a G-Star show. The appearance of Benicio Del Toro, who did a reading of Joy Division’s “Candidate” at the show’s close, was something of a head-scratcher, but an impressive celebrity wild card nonetheless.”

What do you think of G-Star’s collection and the new dropped-crotch styles?
