The concert for just 200 guests raised $20,000, with all proceeds going to the ONE Campaign to fight global AIDS and extreme poverty. A FASHION range promoted by Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has been dumped by a string of swish US shops.
Top outlets Fred Segal and Kitson have dropped her DVB denim range after poor sales and complaints about a lack of promotional work.
The news will come as a bitter blow to Posh, who is keen to launch a career as a fashion designer.
Her jeans are over £100 and when she launched the range, she said: “I want everything to be perfect.
“I’m not just a celebrity with a licensing deal. There isn’t a single rivet or button that goes on a pair of jeans that I haven’t designed or tested myself.”
Fraser Ross, owner of Kitson, said: “We asked her PR people so many times for her to appear but she didn’t. Celebrity lines are no different from an album or music tour. They have to be promoted to sell.”
Yikes! Do you think other stores will follow suit and drop DVB or are her jeans still hot enough to continue to sell?
