Editor of the blog, Liane and Director of HonestForum, Dave met up in freezing New York City during Fashion Week and hit up Atrium, a really cool denim shop in Soho. We met one of the sales staff there who wore a pair of raw denim Nudies that he’s had for 5 years and only washed a few times by hand. They looked really cool, makes us want to try a pair! This is definitely a shop to check out if you are ever in Soho!
Check out this picture of actress Heather Graham in a see-through top at the G-Star Fashion Week Fall 2008 show…hmm. The denim skirt and the boots are cute, but wow – we were just in New York City and it was FREEZING. The see-through top with black bra seems very Madonna in the 1980’s to us.

NEW YORK — Premium denim label Earnest Sewn is setting its sights on expansion after securing a new financial backer and putting together a management team.
An investment group led by Brian Cytrynbaum, owner of Majestic Mills, has made a “significant equity investment” in the brand and is looking to grow the wholesale business, expand product offerings and open signature stores at home and abroad. In 2007, Cytrynbaum’s investment group acquired a stake in Link Theory Holdings Co., owner of the Theory, Helmut Lang and Rosner labels.
Michael Press took over as president last week from founder and designer Scott Morrison. Press is a denim-industry veteran who was most recently vice president of sales at Paige Premium Denim. Rock & Republic’s Fashion Week 2008 show in New York City was filled with mostly black and purple designs…which are gorgeous of course, but we were a bit dissapointed to not see ANY denim in the photos. Isn’t denim what they were built on? Guess they really are trying to diversify into other areas.

We like that Miss Sixty actually featured lots of denim designs in their Fashion Week show, which took place Saturday. We just hope the last picture below does not mean acid washed jeans are making a comeback. Do you see Miss Sixty being a hot brand again in 2008/2009 in the denim world? It warms our hearts to see Victoria Beckham consoling and hugging this crying girl at a promotional event for her DVB denim line at Saks Fifth Avenue in Boston. Not sure why she was crying, but its nice to see Posh showing some emotion on camera.
