Video on the making of 7 for All Mankind jeans!

Check out this video taken at the 7 for All Mankind factory and learn what goes into making the perfect pair of denim jeans. This video also illustrates all the steps it takes to make a pair of higher cost of premium denim jeans. Wow - makes us feel not so bad about spending $200 on jeans when you see that they actually do make them by hand!

True Religion handbags to be released in February/March!

LAS VEGAS, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Premium denim company True Religion Apparel Inc is launching a line of handbags for spring 2008, a new product category for the company, which is expanding beyond jeans as it rolls out its retail stores.

The company, known for its horseshoe logo on the back pockets of its pricey jeans, aims to create a lifestyle brand that moves it beyond denim. Its other recently launched lines include belts and swimwear, and a fragrance is expected next year.

The handbags, set to hit high-end boutiques and department stores in February or March, are made in Italy and feature details such as nickel hardware and the thick stitching used in its jeans.

Some bags use stamped python leather, others are fringed or colorful woven fabric. True Religion even offers a slouchy bag in denim with white leather detailing. Prices will range from $598 to $998, but leather key chains and pouches will be priced at $98 and $128, respectively…”

Loving the tan handbag - the leather looks really nice and the “speedy” satchel style of the bag is classic and never goes out of style. The blue one - eh - not the best we’ve ever seen…

New True Religion Ad in this month’s Maxim magazine…

We like that they are advertising to stylish men out there!  The pair in the ad looks to us to be a pair of True Religion Joey Big T’s in Dark Drifter….correct us if you think otherwise!

Old becomes new again: More proof that faded jeans are back!

Hmmm.  Again, we love our dark denim.  But here’s more proof from this month’s TeenVogue that light denim and faded jeans are making a comeback.  Does this mean 1990’s style flannel shirts are going to come back too?  Oh no.  We like the first pair (figures, they are D&G and cost $350) but the rest we are not loving…you?

Trend forecast for 2008/2009

Wondering what the new trends are going to be in later 2008/2009? Straight from the fashion insiders over at FashionSpot where many fashion insiders post, here are some of what we should expect to see in the next year or so.

Menswear: Lightweight fabrics. Colors: red kiss, meteorite, mauve smoke, oxblood, creme cassis, sidereal, ink, humus, turtledove. Aspects: plastic & metallic, structures, semi-transparency, also: stripes on weaves, tennis, banker styles, think Prince of Wales.

Across the board: Eco-friendly fabrics like recycled polyester, recycled wool, recycled denim.

Fabric finishes: shiny, whether smooth, plastic of scintillating. Also water resistant woolens. Revive the warming light of cosy interiors in winter and the rich, expressive colourfulness of leather and woods reflect a scale of warm brown and golden shades. Leather pants become more prevalent again along with leather jackets remaining popular.

Intensive colours like red, pink, violet or green shine have a monochrome shine, like lights in the city. They define new volumes, provide rhythm for graphic or accentuated sporty looks.

A decided modernity stylishly points clearly to the future. Fashion makes use of current technologies to improve textile functionality and to find stylistic forms of expression previously unknown.

In jeans - the skinny jean will live on, as well as the slightly higher waisted, wider leg varieties will be back for awhile.

What other trends do you think will be big and which ones do you hope will die out fast? Personally, we won’t be caught dead in leather pants, but then again, some people can rock them!

True Religion ventures into swimwear!

Who knew? Today we found out that True Religion not only makes fabulous denimwear - but now swimwear too! They are available at SwimNSport.com. Gotta get one for the spring/summer!

Celebs in Denim: Vanessa Hudgens in Rock & Republic

Vanessa Hudgens spends the day about and about in LA. shopping in a pair of Rock & Republic Skinnies.  The High School Musical star showed her generosity as she handed a $10 bill to a homeless man who was sitting by the side of the road. Hudgens, who was driving her convertible Audi with her mother, made the kind gesture as she was waiting at a red traffic light.

Aww, isn’t it sweet when celebs are thoughtful?
