Raw denim - and cheaper too!

Good Society Denim

We had a suggestion from an HonestForum member that we should do more posts about raw denim!  In particular, we like Good Society’s denim.  It’s a raw organic denim and is much cheaper than most of our designer jeans, starting around $90!  Made from 100% organic cotton, Good Society’s jeans are woven on vintage shuttle looms and then are later sewn by skilled workers in India in accordance to Fair Trade regulations.   Thus, these jeans really ARE good for society! They are available at RevolveClothing.com

Deal of the Day - Kenneth Cole Ankle Boots

Kenneth Cole Ankle Boots

Today’s Deal of the Day isn’t denim - but the reason we picked these is because we can totally see wearing these Kenneth Cole Ankle Boots with our favorite jeans!  They are not too high in the heel and won’t make your legs too warm under your jeans because they only go ankle high.  So cute!  On sale for $71.99 at shoes.com!

Proof that denim companies are expanding their lines…

Rock & Republic SunglassesR&R sandals

Have you seen Rock & Republic’s new line of shoes, bags, sunglasses, and ready-to-wear?  It’s proof that companies that used to just sell jeans are diversifying.  Will they get away with charging prices like higher-end luxury brands such as Vuitton & Gucci?

We think the shoes are a little over the top with logos (only the afore mentioned luxury brands can get away with logos everywhere!) but we do wonder why is it that the shoes, at $285, are cheaper than the sunglasses, at $350?  That seems odd.

Sidenote: We refuse to pay that much for sunglasses since we just found an awesome pair of Dior’s at Off 5th for $60!  Sunglasses break way too easy to pay so much for them unless they are on sale!

Check out all the new R&R stuff at ELuxury.

What do we think of these?

sfam flower jeans

We love Seven for all Mankind but sometimes we have to wonder what they are thinking (as in our prior post about this hideous skull skirt).  Now they’ve come out with these Flower Patch jeans.  Hmmm.  They are not quite as hideous as the skull skirt but still, we don’t think these are going to be the new “IT” jean.  They look a little too “I’m 10 years old” to us.  Would you wear them?

Deal of the Day - Diesel Lowky Jeans!

diesel lowky jeans

Gotta love Nordie’s - they have these sexy Diesel Lowky jeans on sale for $125 in regular or tall inseams.  Regular price is $210!  We love the pocket design on these, they look like great I-could-wear-them-any-day jeans!

Texas news story about designer jeans stolen

true religion

Apparently this is happening a lot!  Umm, and Mr. Cop, that black market you talked about?  It’s called ”eBay”.  Duh.  Or they sell them overseas to help them manufacture fakes.  Let’s hope they bust these guys.

From a Texas news station:

“For the second time this week, thieves have broken into a store to steal expensive designer blue jeans.

Burglars targeted two boutiques when they broke through their front glass windows.

Upwards of 75 pairs of high-end designer jeans from the Abito Boutique and Valentines.

The case is similar to a smash-and-grab that occurred at Ben Bridge jewelry — where thieves used sledgehammers to break through jewelry cases.

Cops don’t yet know if there’s a connection, and they don’t know if the suspects behind a blue-jean break-in at the Blue Elephant Boutique early Monday morning could be connected.

While cops piece together the clues, shoppers are shocked. The designer jeans can cost $300.

“It seems crazy that they’re stealing jeans,” says shopper Wendy Mackey. “That’s such a random thing to steal. But if they’re $300, that’s why they’re breaking in.”

“I guess I would wonder where are these people going to sell them,” said shopper Jeff Bowden. “But I guess when you’re talking about $300 blue jeans; it’s a different world out there.”

Police don’t have a lot of leads. The burglars wore gloves, so no fingerprints were found, and there’s no surveillance video.

Cops say there is a black market for blue jeans.”
