in rock & republic jeans.

Check out Rock & Republic’s five year anniversary jeans - $350 at ELuxury. Hmmm…we normally love R&R’s jeans but these are just….well…kinda cheap looking! Is it just us or do you see these already on the clearance rack too? We definitely would NOT pay $350 for a pair of these! The back pockets are too blatantly over the top for us. We like our denim to more subtly say, “I’m expensive” by just looking hot in them without having to scream out “LOOK AT THE LOGO ON MY BUM“! We like that the normal “R” pocket logo looks just like a swooshy design to most people unless you know what they are!
They make them for men too, if you must have some. But do we really want to be the type who really wants to show off your logos quite this much?

in celebs and j brand.

Because we love to see what brands the celebs are wearing - here’s Angelina Jolie in J Brand skinny jeans. OMG - is that a plate of food in her hand? She eats?! Wow - coulda fooled us! We love her though!

We all love our True Religion Joey jeans, but can you imagine the fit, the comfort, with the feeling of fleece? Neither can we but we want to try them! These are un-jeanslike enough that we think we could pull off wearing them to the office with a dressier top! True Religion Joey Big T in Khaki Fleece for only $75 on sale at Rafael Hawaii.

in new brands and sling & stones.

“Sling & Stones denim is made of American-grown organic Supima cotton, one of the finest and rarest natural fibers on earth. Our jeans are virtually pesticide-free, unlike the average cotton jeans which contain 27% harmful chemicals. The twill and denim are accessorized by genuine 24k gold plated hardware and zari thread, handcrafted by skilled artisans in India. The twill for our pocket bag lining is made of organic Fair Trade cotton, grown on the farms of Peru.
Our supplier programs in Peru (1) help poor farmers, who previously were forced to grow cocaine, (2) generate electricity for the nearby villages, and (3) donate proceeds back into the local communities. Fair Trade ensures workers are paid enough to care for their families, put food on the table, and send their children to school. A percentage of Sling & Stones’ profits will be used to immunize villagers in Peru, fight teen suicide in Japan, and build an orphanage and youth rehabilitation center in India.”
Check ‘em out for yourself at Revolve! Have you tried them yet?

OK so the GOOD news is that you can get a free R&R tank with any Rock & Republic purchase at Eluxury right now while supplies last - no coupon code necessary. The BAD news is that it doesn’t apply to sale priced R&R denim. Awww, so sad. But its a good deal anyway since many R&R tops are normally $50+!

Exciting news for all True Religion Jeans fans!
“True Religion to Grow Fifty-Stores Strong by 2009’s End
Los Angeles-based True Religion Apparel, a premium apparel brand primarily known for its True Religion Jeans, recently completed a strategic review with Goldman Sachs. The result of the review, which the company has been working on since last summer is significant expansion. True Religion will add four more stores by the close of 2007, bringing its total store count to 15. In addition, the company plans significant growth during 2008 and 2009, increasing store count to 30 by the end of 2008 and 50 by the end of 2009. In addition, the company recently hired an experienced apparel industry store executive as VP of real estate, Marc Klein, who is responsible for securing new store sites. True Religion is flexible in its square footage requirement, but targets upscale shopping centers in affluent markets across the country. ”

Enhance your assets! Ever wish for a perkier posterior?
For those of us not blessed like Beyonce the cut and wash of your denim can do wonders. Remember darker washes are more slimming and lighter washes hide less.

The cut, the wash, the back pocket details, these jeans have ‘Perfect Denim’ written all over them. A classic pair of jeans - Citizens of Humanity’s Ingrid Flare Stretch Jeans are on sale at ShopBop for only $94.50.

In searching for deals of the day - we ran across this. At first glance (above), its a super hot pencil skirt from Seven for All Mankind that looks sexy and sophisticated! But then look at the back (below). SFAM - what were you thinking? Who wants a big white skull on their bum? Ugggggly!

in diesel jeans.
Diesel Jeans is known for its interesting advertising. They have pushed the envelope in many of their campaigns. In an interview Renzo Rosso, the creator of Diesel states:
there are dangers you risk in trying to always be innovative, and we are condemned to always do something new so it is easy to get to the point where nobody understands you anymore
Here are some advertisements from their recent (and somewhat controversial) global warming campaign. Click to view full size.
