The new Lou Lou Tulip jean by Paige Premium

This trend won’t wilt with the rest of them. The secret is out… Paige Premium Denim has finally unveiled The Lou Lou Ankle Flare – the product of months of hard work and secrecy. Three parts skinny jean and one part flare, the Lou Lou is one tall drink of water. On August 1st, 2009 the Lou Lou will debut exclusively at Los Angeles’ famed Ron Herman boutique, known for offering the latest and greatest in contemporary pieces.

“Denim trends are constantly evolving” says designer Paige Adams-Geller. “Our mission is to create new classics and the Lou Lou jean is a true original that fits.”

Nicknamed the tulip for its upside down take on the iconic flower, the Lou Lou is a classic rise, five pocket jean with a kick. The leg is ultra fitted all the way down through the calf like a skinny, elongating the form and slimming the hips. But rather than tapering in the Lou Lou flares just before the ankle to balance the frame.

“The Lou Lou Tulip Jean has made the boot cut feel contemporary again” says Ron Herman denim buyer Brian Kaneda. “It’s a timely update of a classic silhouette and we are thrilled to be launching alongside the team at Paige Premium Denim.”

Available in four washes from the ultra light Coast to the vintage inspired Sardinia this jean is sure to be a blooming success.

A little while ago we found pictures of Ashley Tisdale in these pretty Tie-Dye, paint splatter jeans. We couldn’t figure out who they were by but today I just got told by the lovely ladies at Paige that they are indeed a pair of Paige Premium jeans customised by celebrity stylist to the stars Simone Harouche! So unfortunately these are a one of a kind jean and can’t be bought anywhere. Ashley is one lucky lady! She has been seen in these jeans a couple of times now.

I have selected just 10 of my favourite jeans out there right now. Diesel Matic 81M has been a favourite jean of mine for years now, I love the wash and the fit, it’s perfect! Dylan George jeans are a new favourite of mine also as well as Current/Elliott, they are so soft! Paige jeans I recently tried and fell in love with, the same with AG jeans! I have never tried Siwy but I plan to! Comment on this blog and let us know which jeans are your favourite at the moment!

New Brand & Interview: RECESSION DENIM

DenimBlog: What inspired you the most when creating your brand?

The economy and my girlfriends who were foregoing well tailored, great fitting jeans for lesser quality, inexpensive jeans. Everyone wanted to splurge more on the accessories, blouse and leather jackets. So I figured why not create quality jeans that are just as cool, comfortable and have a great fit and offer them at a reasonable price.

DenimBlog: What has been your favorite memory/experience since RECESSION DENIM was founded?

Printing colored back tag labels onto FABRIC through an HP printer while I was living in Geneva, Switzerland because I did not have access to anything related to garment construction as Geneva is a town run by banks not artists nor fashion designers. I was living there at one point during the development process of the line.

DenimBlog: Do you have a favorite cut you have designed?

Yes, the gypsy collection. It is super lightweight denim dresses, skirts and baggy pants. Not boyfriend, but baggy.

DenimBlog: How many pairs of jeans do you own?

Many

DenimBlog: What cut has been the most popular overall?

Not sure, so far we are selling FALL collection, which is basics and emphasize classic, clean cut jeans that have great fit and are super comfortable. All have been selling well. However, the 2nd and 3rd collections will be a lot more detailed and diverse. We develop jeans with everyone in mind, so I think each pair will speak to someone… I will keep you posted though

DenimBlog: Are there any new trends coming out next season that we should be keeping an eye out for?

Yes, yes. The Gypsy is cool. The Motorcycle jeans are cool. Ummmm, our Horse Back + Boogie Night jean are neat, completely off the beaten path.

Kate Beckinsale got snapped rather intrusively by the paps as she left The Ivy restaurant in London. I was trying to ID these jeans for quite some time, they are Anoname’s Paris skinny jean in Driftwood. The price of these jeans is only $110! I think she looks very hot, I love the whole look of her outfit, the neutral tones Kate is wearing really suit her.

Awww what a cute denim couple! After picking up his dog from the animal hospital in West Hollywood and taking him to airline cargo drop-off, Orlando and his supermodel girlfriend proceeded to both fly out of LAX Airport. Orlando is wearing Levi’s again and Miranda has a really cute denim jacket on.
